Ready to Play - Pickleball Conditioning Program

Coming in 2027 to North Platte Pickleball

A New Way to Get Ready for Pickleball!

When NPPC member Dr. Chris Johng, a retired physician, took up pickleball earlier this year, he quickly recognized something important: while pickleball is easy to learn, the physical demands of the game can catch players off guard and lead to injury.

Quick starts and stops, lateral movements, reaching for shots, and recovering balance all require strength, stability, and coordination. Chris believes preparing our bodies for these movements is an important part of playing safely and confidently.

With that in mind, he's developed Ready to Play, a four-week conditioning program designed for players of all experience levels.

The program will focus on exercises that build strength, improve balance, and prepare players for the movements they encounter on the court. Participants will complete exercises independently and meet with Chris weekly for guidance and support.

The NPPC Board has approved a pilot program to begin in early 2027! We're excited to see one of our own members sharing his knowledge and experience to help fellow players enjoy the game.

Watch for more details about this new opportunity in 2027!
